Sorry, we can't help at this stage

It is impossible to provide a quote for solar if there is nothing for an installer to work with.

What can I do for you in the meantime?

  • If you submit your name and email address, I can provide a really useful resource on solar options for house build planning; -OR-
  • Give you some ballpark pricing, useful for budgeting or presenting to your bank for financing purposes

Thank you,
Finn Peacock

We won't be able to organise quotes yet

Our apologies, but without a completed roof and frame, it is difficult to organise quotes. When installers visit they need to get a solid understanding of the home, so they can provide a firm quote or use mapping software to visualise the roof and provide an estimated quote.

10kW: $8,000 - $13,000

House planning solar options

This guide will provide options in the context of planning a house build - including:

  • The maximum amount of solar you can have on a single phase power supply
  • Key questions to ask your architect or builder to ensure that solar will be easy to integrate
  • Whether or not pre-wiring is worth the time
  • How to ensure that you get a solar ready electricity meter

Timing on getting a quote

If you're not planning on getting solar for at least 3 months, or you're just looking for ballpark pricing, no worries...

Generally installers don't quote for timeframes over 3 months because the price of solar panels changes frequently and the value of the rebate can fluctuate by up to 50% over 12 months.

Because of this - if you're not looking to install solar within 3 months, I'd advise signing up to my weekly newsletter here to stay in the loop about solar until your timeframes are closer and you're ready to commit to firm quotes.

In the meantime - here's ballpark pricing for a good quality solar power system using genuine Tier 1 panels, a mid-range or premium inverter and an experienced installation team as of October, 2025:

6.6kW: $5,500 - $9,000
10kW: $8,000 - $13,000

To be clear - the upper end prices are for top-end systems (e.g. REC panels with full panel level optimisation), installed by a solar 'craftsman'.

The above prices also include the discount from the solar 'rebate'.
